Whisps of Smoke

"What's wrong?"
that's all I ask
but you won't answer

no.

instead
you walk away
and grab a smoke

"What's wrong?"
"I just need a smoke."
and that is all you say

ever.

all i get from you
is absence
and silence

you walk into this house
and act like you're necessary
but you're not

I fix everything
make it all happen
without you

what do you contribute?
your occasional presence
and your wisps of smoke

well i don't need that any more
so leave! get out!
be gone.
i'm done.

here are your things
there's the door
and take your wisps of smoke
with you
