The White Flag

The white flag you wave sends a signal through the air that is not transmitted through. And the candle you hold flickers--and dies!-- but no one knows, nor cares. The white flag you wave left you in hurt, though you meant surrender. And your body failed inevitably, left forgotten in the dirt. The white flag is waving on, A slow, tired motion now, but waving continually is futile when your body is gone. Stop the motion--let your soul be free! No one ever noticed anyway. Your white flag no longer waves, since before, nothing you achieved.
