A White Flower

A white flower, amidst the dark and cold

Blooms sweet and quiet, without any cause.

It is simple, but radiant and bold,

Contained in beautiful, immortal pause.

A white flower defies its surroundings,

Holding strong through fearful, unknown breezes.

In perfect silence, I hear its soundings.

Listened not by ears, my heart it seizes.

A white flower knows not of its meaning,

Its essence is that of its observor.

It forever spurs longing and dreaming

With its enchanting, breathtaking fervor.

A white flower, a privilege divine,

I think in amazement how you are mine.
