Who Am I?
Light brown skin, white smile and hazel eyes are what you would see if you pasted by me.
Underneath all that beauty is a girl who is lost in her own tracks. Not knowing whether to go up,
down, backwards, or around. Trying to follow a path that isn’t even my own but one that others
choose for me. I try to speak for myself but other voices over power mine like my voice isn’t even
worth their time. Sometimes I just give up because it seems like no one wants to hear my side of the
story. So the only way for me to get the attention that I need is acting out so I can finally be heard by
those who ignore me. The attention comes around but not the kind I want or need. This kind of
attention breaks someone down till they’re on their knees. So I sit quietly with a broken heart
because I feel like no one wants to talk to me. But as time goes on I grow stronger and taller then
anyone has ever seen before. My voice is no longer in the shadows. I speak what’s on my mind
because my voice is worth everyone’s time.
