who am i

who am i?

what am i to you?

what am i to my mother?

what am i to my brother?

Am i a nameless face as a i walk past you in the street?

Am i the girl you used to know?

or am i the girl with the tattered clothes?

who am i?

the world may never know

because im not defined by you i learned that long ago

so when you look at me as we pass by

i want you to turn a blind eye

because what i am to you no longer matters

im climbing a new ladder
