Who Am I?
How many times
I've heard that question in the past year:
"Who are you?"
"Why are you special?"
Lets be real.
I'm not a minority.
I'm not a mathmatician.
I'm not a pro-athlete.
I'm not someone that is obviously distinguishable on the street.
What am I, if I am none of the above?
I am love.
I am acceptance.
I am intelliegence.
I am hope.
Love is my goal, for how I treat others throughout my life.
Acceptance is the aim, to find and maintain relationships with many different people.
Intelliegence is my mind, for common sense to keep me from harm.
Hope is in my soul, so that I may change the world with my lifelong contribution.
In addition, I am a survivor.
I've survived many sugeries,
and bullies,
and hatred,
as well as the horrifc gradeschool experience.
What I am not
is a labeled human being.
I am Rachel,
a fluidly changing human being.
Love, acceptance, intelligence, hope, survivor:
I am all of these,
and so much more.
