Who am i?
Who am I?
What do you want to be?
These are all questions asked of me.
The answer is, I don’t know
I’m a person who is still learning how to grow.
I’m an athlete, a student, a daughter, and a friend
But I confide in you, that I do pretend.
I’m not always happy, and I’m not always awake
I just make myself be, for everyone’s sake.
The truth is I’m tired, and have insourmanountable stress
And I’m most certainly and certifiably an emotional mess.
But I’m loyal, and loving, and good friend to boot
And catch me with more than 3 hours of sleep, I’m a hoot
I’m vain and selfish, and have a questionable self-esteem
But I’m a teenage girl what else can you expect to glean?
I’m a student with a job, in three clubs, and in a varsity sport
No wonder my time with my bed is short.
I am confident in myself. Curves and all
I learned my lesson with a best friend last fall.
She stopped eating, and plummeted down the scale.
But we talked it through, and she stopped being so pale.
The doctor’s helper her, and this opened my eyes
I would never again complain about my size.
I’m social for a bit
But after an hour or two I’m ready to split.
My happiness is home in bed with a book
Where I can escape into the daring life of one by the name of captain hook.
I grew up with a southern Texas drawl
Coming from a place where we mostly say “yall”,
In truth I’m loving, devoted, and questionably kind.
Never slowing, always truthfully, maybe uninvitedly speaking my mind.
There’s more to me than boldness and attitude that I portray,
But like I said I’m still learning my way.
I’m trying to be, an individual in a society that pushes me to the ground
Letting myself, and my voice be found.
So here I am, making my stand
Telling you that I currently don’t know who I am.
