Who Am I?

I am not who I think I am

I am not the fearless swimmer who wins state and is always on top of the world

I am not the hard working student with high expectations and attains all of her goals

I am not the loving sister who stays close to her family and puts them before anyone

I am not the girl on the homecoming court who everyone adores

I am not the Christian who has complete faith and trust in God

I am not the secure girl who doesn't care what her peers think of her

I am not alright

But no one is

And none of us are what we think we are

We all wear a mask

And sometimes

We wear the mask so much

We forget we put it on in the first place

I do not yet know who I am

I still wear my mask everywhere I go

And the only way I will ever be able to find myself

Is if I first lose myself

I am on a journey to find me.
