Who Am I?

Who am I but a ghost in the background

Just another face in this enormous crowd

Easily forgotten and easily replaced

A fighter, a warrior

Both fearful and afraid

I am someone to rely on when no one else is there

helping ones with problems

That to me struck so near

Trying to aid the ones in need

Experienced in feelings of abandonment, fear, and solidarity

Putting the needs of others as my main priority

Shy and reserved when the light shines on me

Not a word of my problems spoken aloud

Yet eager to help others with their own

I am a sword when fighting for others

A broken shield when fighting for myself

Riddled with hidden strengths I am blind to

Yet visibly clear to others with a single look

I am a fighter, a survivor

I am simply myself
