Who Am I...
Who Am I?
That is a question many have asked.
Little did I know that discovering the answer to this
Was going to be quiet the task...
The answer should be quite simple
But as simple as it should've been I really wish I knew
the answer to the question that was asking
How you define 'you'
Is it the words I speak
Or is it my actions that define me
Or is it my smile, and color of my eyes
My awkwardness or short height
There were a times where I felt like I didn't know myself,
Struggling just to find the real me
To bring forth the girl who was deep inside
Confused, lost, and unable to see
I am a girl who wishes she had
The confidence to speak her mind,
But yet hides behind her walls of insecurity
I wish I were creative and smart
But yet I am self conscious and afraid to believe in myself
A person who takes everything to heart
Sometimes I wish I could just go away
Off somewhere to a distant place
A place where my thoughts
Can just run wild and for a while
My mind and heart are free
And in this place I can just be me
Well more like the person I wish I could be in my day dreams
In my day dreams
I am fearless
I am strong
I am creative
I am innovative
I am smart
I speak my mind
The girl in my day dreams is who I've always strived to be like
And one day I will be like her
I will be that fearless innovative girl
I will be that girl who speaks her mind and is strong
I won't be shy and hide behind my walls of insecurity
She is who I want to be and I will make this my reality
Because the girl in my day dreams
Is me.
