Who am I?

Who am I?

I am from my father and mother, Steve and Elyse,

with Lauren as my older sister.

I am from simple family traditions.

From Sunday family dinners and Mario’s Pizza on every Friday night.

I am from Snapple and Vincent’s Italian Clam Bar.

I am from piling into bed at night to watch TV together with bowls of Edy’s French Silk Frozen Yogurt.

I am from the water in the backyard pool with the glistening waterfall,

clear and serene.

I am from the outdoor play set with the green swings.

With the memory of pouring cold water onto the burning hot swing,

and yelling, “Daddy, push me!”

I am from treat others the way you want to be treated and

laughter is the best medicine.

I am from a gift a night for 8 wintry days in December,

Gathering around the fireplace and lighting the menorah.

I am from Liverpool, England:

Tea and fish and chips.

I am from the rigorous planning a year ahead of time for any vacation

and  yearly trips to the happiest place on Earth.

From “Smile for the camera!” to “My feet hurt.”

From the way my mom does a little bug dance when she sees a bug,

To the joking “yeah yeah,” I get from my sister when I tell her I love her.

And the way my dad can make everyone laugh by coming up with a million and one jokes.

Growing up with the songs of Disney and the weekly games of Monopoly.

I am from a family full of love where we all are fireworks

Bright and unique!

This is me.
