Who Am I?

Who Am I?

The question i always ask myself

What are you?

The question that burns impatiently in the most complex and simple mind

The passion i feel to answer dulls as the stereotype of myself sinks in

Who am i you ask?

I am me

I will not give you a list of simple traits because i am more complicated than that

But for the hell of it,

Ill tell you a little something something

First

Im different

My name my shape my senses are different

My name is Queen Amina

But i go by Queen

My hair is kinky thick and fine

But i prefer straight and sassy

My color of my skin is fair

But i prefer the darkness of my inner skin

What you see with the naked eye is not really what you see now is it?

Mindblown right?

What you see is what you get they say

Well what i see is not what i want to recieve

You see character traits,

But deep down you want personal traits

What am i you ask?

I am ethnically different

I am a woman,

I can prove it but i dont think thats appropriate for this occasion

I am 17 years old

Here my ID  mr movie theater person i can watch this R rated film

I am Creole

Black and french as some might say

But for me add a little bit of cuban in that golden pot

This girl you see in front of you is a contradiction

Im strong yet weak

Im scared yet brave

Im smart yet non comprehensive

Im black yet im white

Who am i?!

Is what i scream at the ceiling at 2:47 am in my bedroom

What am i?!

Is what i scream at the girl who i made out with that night

I scream at myself

Queen, who are you?

But then i remember

I am who i am

And i love me.
