Who Am I?
Who am I?
Am I the girl who everyone sees?
The one who is always smiling,
Laughing,
And joking?
The one who makes “friends” by not trying,
The pretty one who seems to grab everyone’s attention while she walks down the hallway,
The smart one who is every teacher’s favorite?
I don’t think so.
When I look in the mirror,
I see someone completely different.
I see someone who is never happy.
Someone who is hurt,
Broken,
And alone.
I see someone who doesn’t have any true friends.
I see someone who is dangerously overweight and nowhere near pretty.
In fact, I think I’m the complete opposite.
I don’t think I’m all that smart.
Most teachers hate me despite what everyone thinks.
Sometimes I’ll play along and be the person everyone sees me as,
But it only confuses me more.
I get confused on which person I am.
My mind starts to spin as my head aches while I try to sort it out.
Which person am I,
The happy-go-lucky girl or the sad and lost one?
Which one?
I take a step back and wonder:
Who am I?
