Who am I?

Who am I?

Who am I?

I’m still trying to find that out.

I wake up every day with so much confusion, to where it is that I need to be in life.

Who am I?

I’m a single mother,

A Daughter,

A student,

And part time employee.

Even with all these qualities, I still don’t know who I am.

I’m surrounded by so much negativity; I just want to find my purpose.

Growing up in the ghetto, getting pregnant at 17, I didn't want to be another statistics.

Being an African America woman, in Chicago I have a lot to live up to.

I just want to find a way out, not just for me but for my daughter.

Who I am?

Hopefully one day I will figure that out.
