Who am I?

Who am I? I am nothing.

The shadow in the dark.

A tear in the ocean.

A peark forever encased in a clenched clam.

A speck of dust on a dirt road.

Who am I? I am worthless.

My standards, too high to jump over.

My friends, not good enough.

My quietness, deceiving to the screams and cries in my head.

Where am I? It matters not.

I am lost and have not been found.

My dark cage has not seen the ray of the Son of God.

I have not been set free from my bondage.

I long for the Shepherd to find me.

Min my longing, I find peace.

I am not desperate to escape.

Then a light appears. It brightens and brightens until the darkness flees.

My heart is white as snow.

Who am I? I am relieved.

                   I am found.

                   I am changed.

                   I have peace.

Now I have outgrown my shell. I come out of it more and more each day.

Now through my salvation I think differently,

                                              talk differently,

                                              react differently.

Life is more meaningful.

I have a purpose here in the light that is revealing itself more and more each day.

My dedication is growing to serve the Lord,

                                                        my Shepherd,

                                                        my light,

                                                        my freer.

Life gives me challenges to become better, to become more like the Son of God.

I have learned to stick up for the unfair,

                        to love the hated,

                        to comfort the hurt.

Yea though there is goodness living in the light, it is not fully perfect yet.

I am stubborn in my ways;

I am headstrong in my thinking;

But the Lord lets me learn from my mistakes.

Who am I? I am thriving.

My learning and discipline will have paid off.

I will have no regrets about leaving the dark cage from whence I came.

I will have grown into the lady the Lord had planned for me from the start.

My relationshups with the ones I love will have grown because of Him.

I will still be disciplined by the Son of God.

I will still be learning.

I will not be perfect and will continue to have flaws.

But I will try.

And because I try, the Lord will allow me to thrive.

He will be my comfort,

                  my cornerstone,

                  my father.

None can replace Him.

He reigns forever while I return to the dust where I belong.
