Who Am I That I Can Be?
As I lay on the rugged plain, indifferent to this cozy warm bed
I meditate and wonder who I am
Am I the bright light this dark world needs or another ghostly shadow on the desolate cold streets
I am a human, such thing as homosapien, with fears and aspirations
Fear of what is to come, my destiny, my life, yet aspirations of what I may become
Who should I be?
That luminous light of reason, a leader of truth
or let me disappear quietly in the crowd as an unheard voice
This journey to find who we are is troubling and rough
Like walking on a trail barefoot, full of broken glass and dreams
Does that mean I should relinquish the journey?
Or must I march on to unravel the footprints of fate
I am not what society says I am; sands of time, I declare is demise
But I am what my actions, ideals say about me, full of promise and surprise
We all long to be happy, how we wish to be well
Yet I stand idle, while we turn our backs on the world
I want to see peace, such an evil dispersed
Who am I however?
Some say I'm a dreamer wrapped in delicate form
