Who Am I? #NoFilter
Who Am I?
A question I ask my self as I look in the mirror.
Sitting here trying to figure out if the answer would become any clearer.
To you I am just a person standing on a stage.
Trynna ,make a rhyme tight, so it can flow like a wave.
But, if you listen you might find out I got a lot to say.
You see, to him, I was just another phase,
Another toy in his toy box that he would later throw away.
To my mother I was a neglector, someone who would eventually leave.
So she turned to a man who treated her like a slave.
Day and night she would cry to me, not knowing that all she did was push me away.
A motherless child is was I eventually became.
To my father I was just another crutch.
Something to lean on after he was finished throwing up his guts.
After clinging to that bottle I was the last thing on his mind.
Til the bars closed behind him, waiting for the judge to give him time.
It wasn't until then that I became, 'Daddy's little angel'.
But by then, I had started looking at men from a whole nother angle.
My heart bleeds out to those fatherless children,
Becasue that's what I became once daddy made that decision.
As I say in the mirror thinking; the answer to question became much clearer.
I am bold and beautiful, in every single way.
I will move mountain, hurdles, and anyone or anything that stands in my way.
I am more that what on the outside, my inner beauty it glows.
Been through hell and high water but, still my exceptionality shows.
I am not what you think of me, I am what the mirror shows.
I am me, with no excuses, my life, my show!
