WHO AM I TO YOU

A Poem To My Friends...

I am the one who catches your eye - for unknown reasons; you'll never know why.

I am the one you call in the day, whether or not you have something to say.

I am the one you know can be found, when you're empty inside and there's no one around.

I am the one who'll listen to your words, that pore from your heart and must be heard.

I am the one on whom you can depend,

And you feel with some time, I'll be a friend.

I am the one who helps you to define, the things that you reject and have hidden behind.

I am the one who draws out your fears, who helps you to release all those pent up tears.

I am the one who will let you unload, when you have to scream or you will explode.

I am the one who brings to a head, your passions and failures that have been left unsaid.

I am the one on whom you can depend,

and you feel that I have become a close friend.

I am the one who sees who you are, and tells you the truths that you must unjar.

I am the one who sees what's inside, and it angers you so - that I can see what you hide.

I am the one who has opened my door, to all of your demons that you must deplore.

I am the one who understands your shame, that you cannot except so must pass on the blame.

I am the one on whom you can depend,

And you feel that I have become your true friend.

I am the one who releases your guilt, and allows you to tear down all the walls you've built.

I am the one who always forgives, all the unpleasant emotions you did viciously give.

I am the one who tells you with a smile, that this pain will only last awhile.

I am the one on whom you can depend,

I am the one whose your friend till the end.
