Who Are We?

Who are we as African Americans to say yes we can At the beginning we couldn’t even protect our land When the white men and there armies came and captured us and stole our dignity We thought we was going to be slaves for infinity But little did we know change was going to come Years start to pass and we began to get num With the situations at hand Until someone stepped up and said yes we can We defeated slavery with minds that’s to optimistic To even become made into a statistic Years and years past that went to fast Because at the blink of an eye We have our 44th president Which is a black man That stands and say it proud yes we can.
