Who Are You

You ugly,

You dumb,

You too short,

Too poor,

Too Mexican..

The list can go on for hours.

But i'll cut to the chase.

Who are you to determine what I become.

Who are you to deny me school,

Deny me a job, who I can love.

Or what I wear?

You were not there for me

At my best or at my worst.

Therefore I don't need to, I'm not obligated to be your daughter.

I was not there the night I was concieved, I did not tell you to have sex with my

Father.

I did not tell you to have twins.

If you did not want me, then why keep me?

I was not there, but if I was,

I would tell you this;

Don't do it, or if you do, love your children equally.

I am different I get it,

But don't blame me for what you couldn't do.

I don't hate you, but I don't love you as much as a child should love her mother.

For that I am sorry.

Sorry that I tried being the perfect child and for what?

To be called the rebel of the house, the slut of the family?

Name calling does not destroy what I have become.

Only destroys what we could have had as a family.

So in case I never say it,

            Thank you.

Thank you for showing that I can not trust anyone especially my own blood.
