Who Cares?
This is frustrating.
Everything is frustrating.
Life is frustrating.
There’s a constant grating sound
Of nails on a chalkboard
And the swarm of bees nest inside my head
And I don’t pay attention to the hum
Until I lay down in bed
And it’s impossible to ignore or put out of mind.
They’re stinging the inside of my skull
And they burrow into my brain
And when they’re done there is a dull pain
That never ceases
To annoy me.
Most of the time it’s just an annoyance
But a constant annoyance
Starts to weigh down on my head
Like a nail slowly pushed into me
Only a couple nanometers
A day
But it’s been like,
6 years
So it’s-
Still not even an inch, but
It hurts
Nevertheless
It hurts
Like
Hell.
It’s frustrating that
Because it’s so small looking
No one really cares
And I don’t even care
Because why should I think it even matter at all like,
It’s not even anything that concerning.
Such a distant looming threat
That won’t even be evident
Until I’m too old to care still, so-
I don’t care.
But I care that I don’t care
It bothers me that I don’t care
So does that mean I do care?
Who cares?
Honestly, Seriously,
It’s like a tiny drop of poison in all of the world’s oceans combined and
It’ll only affect one speck of microorganism
But that one speck of microorganism is
My head
Not even all of me just
My head
And it’s driving me crazy
Because it’s not poison it’s like rabies
And everyday I sink deeper into what feels like
Madness.
I don’t think I’ll ever experience
What people refer to as “normal”
And that bothers me sometimes but
Honestly who cares.
Who cares?
And I’m not one of those
“Quirky, omg I’m so weird” girls,
I’m really fed up with them.
No, it’s like, I’m normal in every way that makes me uninteresting
But not quite right when it matters most
And I would never brag about being
“Weird” or whatever.
Why would I be proud of feeling so stupid?
So different,
So wrong,
So off?
My poems are starting to sound a little
Repetitive and overdone
This one has been on the grill way too long for my taste ‘cause like,
I love medium rare, sometimes even rare, but this is
Well done.
Who cares enough to read this entire thing?
Eh, who cares.
Something wrong with this poem?
