Who I Am

(poems go here) They assume I am a threat, a threat. Characterizing my thoughts as bizarre and my eloquence as unnatural, they fear me. I am a menace, barbaric because my intelligence wreaks havoc on our society's ill standards. They teach us to conform, but out of rage and even my own fear, I break boundaries. I break boundaries with my mind. Like the forceful waters of Katrina, my thoughts vigorously flood past marginal expectations, breaking levees of bondage and walls of oppression. My mind is incarcerated, a prisoner to the World. A prisoner, who is sentenced to a lifetime of deceit, but in spite, diligently searches for a covenant with a higher Truth to bring myself out. To the World, I am a monster. I am of the dying breed they live to kill as I allow my excessive ambition and overt imagination to run free, run wild. They try to tame me, convinced that their slurs and traps will force me to fail. They want to see me fail. I am maimed, I am impaired. Impaired because I cannot seem to touch the World in the way I would want to be felt. I want them to feel me. Yet they label my intentions as malicious, malicious only in that I have killed my own ignorance. I have wounded them, my wisdom piercing them as a ricocheting bullet penetrates the skin. They bleed hostility; prejudice; disgust. Yet I am more hurt than they are. I am persecuted because they are blind. Perhaps the Light I shine is too bright for most to comprehend; they cannot see who I really am or who I will become. To them, I am blind. But am I blind? The veil has been removed from my mind's Eye, allowing me to clearly see the picture they have painted, but I choose to create my own masterpiece. Their World of Black and White, pastels of persecution and hues of hatred, are washed away by a flood of new ideas, new concepts- new reality. I am a natural disaster. In this World of uncertainty, I am the violator. But I am also violated. They say I am the threat, the monster, unable, malicious, yes. I only wish to be released, liberated, and freed. Free so that I may free someone else. Am I the villain? Or am I the hero?
