Who I am
Who am I?
I’m someone who cries
I’m someone who feels pain
I’m someone who struggles to stand
I’m someone who has been used
I’m someone who has been abused
I was supposed to be amazing
But isn’t it crazy?
I’m starting to see
I’m not who I thought I’d be
I’m just a piece of meat
He used me for different things
He put me in a jail cell that clangs
He told me the things I wanted to hear
But now he doesn’t care
I’ve been demeaned
He was so keen
To my every need
He walked on me
He used my own expectations to crush me
I’m going to rise above it all
I’m not going to fall and fall and fall
I’m not going to wait for him to call
He’s not going to sorry
Even though he holds the key
He’s not going to fix it
He thinks I’m a misfit.
No more, no more
I walking out of the jail door
I’m made out of stone
I’m not going to be alone
I’m going to resurrect lives
For those who decide to realize
There’s so much more to life then what they see
That is who I want to be
I’m going to keep my heart strong and my spirit ready
I’m going to keep walking, sure and steady
I think I can, I know I can
That is who I am
