That Is Who I Am
Me?
I am...
The lines in my sketchpad,
The color on my canvas.
The shapes: emotions. Escaping from
Swirled-up-and-tangled-inside—
Me.
Tangled; But in a beautiful spider web
Of unbreakable steel,
A thing called
Soul.
I am strong.
This I know.
I have beaten ED; continue to beat him down.
I fall, yet I stand again—
Stronger; more determined—
Because:
I am worthy.
I am unique.
I am more than an object.
I am a lover,
A feeler,
A doer,
Passionately fighting for those with silent handicaps—
Of the mind,
Of the heart;
Seeking to wipe away the pain
Of scarred souls.
I am
A giver.
A healer.
A daughter.
A sister.
A friend.
I am
Me.
Plain and simple.
And that
Is who
I am.
