Who I Am

Who am I?

A question frequently asked but rarely answered.

We live every day in this skin without knowing why.

With our question remaining unanswered

One day you wake up and  you're not smiling

The identity of this person unknown.

And then you look in the mirror and upon your face the worry is piling

Because without an identity depression is prone.

So you try to make friends,

You try to be someone they want to see

You "put yourself out there"

and then you start as "is this really me?"

You feel less than, inadequate at best

And you're angry with yourself.

Because you can't be like the rest

So you pick up a pen

And find the words from within.

The words that tell you, who you are

The words that show you that you are you are up to par.
