Who I Am

Who I Am

I am the paper

The blank open space

That awaits the words

I can never say

But constantly float in my head

I am the images

These words create

The story they tell

The safety they provide

From all that has threatened me

I am the point

That scratches on the surface

That forms the words

That creates the magic

That drives me home

I am interpretation

What people see in the words

What they believe it is about

What they need it to mean

What problem they need it to solved

I am release

Everything that builds up inside

Everything that has no escape

Everything that is toxic and decaying

Everything that needs to be rid of

I am guidance

Helping the lost

Helping the broken

Helping the feeble minded

Helping the forgotten

I am poetry

The solution to my problems

The parent who before was absent

The hug during the storm

The patience required
