Who I Am

You don't know who I am

So why tell me what to be?

You don't know what I've done

So why tell me how to feel?

Why can't you say my name

Without wanting to rip out your throat?

Why do you force me to pretend

To be the person you thought you knew?

Why do you think that what's in my pants

Should tell me what to wear and how to act?

Why won't you listen

When I tell you who I am?

Why does my gender

My sexuality

Offend you?

Why does it hurt you

To see me being true to myself?

Why can't I be me?
