Who I am from

I am from...

I am from the old rocking chair in my living room

From the vast porcelain vases and the beautiful drapes of curtain

Hanging from the ceiling

I am from the small but large at heart apartment

Known for its simple beauty and elegance

I am from the orchids that my mother grows

The cherry orchard

Whose long limbs I remember

As if they were my own

I'm from the hard working and the ones who fight for justice

From my father and mother

I am from the high mountain lands and rich soil

And from the urban city

I am from the honest and respectful

And the ones who share

I am from the patience, that all good things come to those who wait

I am from Costa Rica with el flan and arroz con leche

From the people who come to work hard and want a better life

I am from all those who inspire
