Who I Am
I am from the old red van,
from Windex and laundry soap.
I am from backyard bonfires
warm, comforting, and protective.
I am from the big oak tree in the front yard,
as heavy as we sleep on Christmas Eve.
I am from game nights and giggles,
from hopscotch to car washing.
From Newcombe to Ryan.
I am from the practical jokers and forgivers,
from always staying positive and dreaming big.
I am from He who strengthens me and the light of the world.
The hearing of a hawk that can hear awakeness.
I am from the memories on the walls,
showing the importance of family as breath is to man.
