Who I Am

I am a tree

In the beginning, I had a lot of friends

That were flowers

But as I grew and gained apples

My friends left me

So I started to make friends

But only with my kind

But that didn’t work either

So I stayed alone and stopped talking

People walk past me

and leave their garbage

They lean on me so I offer comfort

and support but never receive it back

I'm all alone

they cut everyone who is like me down

So, I wait until I'm cut down

because now I am useless
