Who I Am Meant To Be
If I could change me,
I would change the way I looked,
The way I talked,
The way I thought,
And the way I felt.
So in doing this,
I would be prettier, skinnier, and altogether better to look at.
I would make more sense when I talked, stuttering would be a thing of the past,
And communicating with others would be easier.
I would be enveloped with more positive thoughts
And feeling alone and sad would be a thing of the past.
As these thoughts of changing myself enter my mind,
So do thoughts of impossibilities and thoughts unkind.
I finally stop myself from emerging into an abyss of constant darkness
And constant unknowingness.
Because, I am me.
I am perfectly flawed,
Perfectly incapable of making sense,
Perfectly myself,
I am perfectly imperfect.
When I put these into perspective,
I gain the things I thought I did not have.
I have the body I am meant to have,
I have the personality I am meant to have,
I have the life I am meant to have.
If I could change me,
I would tell myself to stop trying to change me,
To stop holding myself back from my capabilities,
To live not for myself,
And instead try to help change the lives of others.
