This is Who I Am, Whether You Get it or Not
Today is a day for fulfillment,
savor it in all of its greatness,
though always in regard for the future.
I believe the grass can always be greener
because there is always a brighter tomorrow.
I can be quiet, friendly, or intense.
It just depends on the time of day.
Sports shape who I have become,
a determined, relentless, brute of a man.
Yet, I still sleep with my dog at night.
I’m quick to fight when challenged,
slow to make amends,
and hesitant to reveal my inner-self in the presence of newcomers.
I’ll give my opinion and stand by it,
but fail to follow it in my own life.
Call me a hypocrite, I call it being human.
Some claim I don’t manage my time,
I just call it meditated procrastination.
I flourish in the organized chaos
known as my life.
Rising up to challenges is my forte,
however, I second guess myself the entire way.
This who I am, whether you get it or not.
