Who I Chose To Be

I am not the one who can walk into a room and be the center of attention

I am not the one who will be voted as prom queen

I am not the one who was born with a silver spoon

I am not the one who is seemingly perfect

I will not pretend to be something I am not

I will not pretend to like someone I hate

I will not pretend to hate someone just to fit in

I will not pretend to be perfect

I will be the truth

I will be what people need

I will listen

I will be the best I can be

I am the one who will stop to ask how your day is and not stop until I get the true answer

I am the one who might have good qualities, but never recognize it

I am the one who will remember every single detail about you, but never tell you

I am the one who will make you feel wanted, needed, and perfect

And ask for nothing in return

But I am happy this way
