Who I Want to be
How would I describe myself,
Who do I want to be?
Is the question everyone seems to want
An answer for from me.
I play guitar, mandolin, trumpet,
Piano, violin: I am a musician,
Strumming chords, hitting notes,
Fingers flying into position.
I love to read; I’ve bookshelves full
Of novels, stories, tales.
When sad, lonely, glad, or other,
Their comfort never fails.
An all A student, top ten percent,
I am intelligent, top of my class.
High test scores, good grades,
College offers en masse.
A few close friends I spend time with,
Prefer to work alone.
Introvert – Don’t go out much;
I’d rather be at home.
I also like to give and get
Gifts, presents, and the like.
With Christmas just around the corner,
Those opportunities will spike!
So there it is, how I am,
My personality.
That’s how I describe myself,
I’m who I want to be.
