Who Knew?

Who knew thanksgiving could bring two people so close Who knew a forbidden food could spark such a relationship Who knew starvation could bring so many laughs Who knew gossip could create so many memories Who knew my grandmother was so cool Who knew pineapples and cherries could be passed down in generations Who knew making ham could give you a long lasting best friend She did She knew everything and every way to say it just to see you smile She knew all the recipes all the jokes and all the facial expressions to go along She knew everyone and loved everyone She still does love everyone Who knew she would be here one day and gone the next Who knew she could actually die Who knew I wasn’t going to be angry Who knew I would be happy for her Who knew she’s better off now Who knew we would miss her this much Who knew we could live without her happily?
