Who Knew?

The initial shocking water threatened me

In the flooding wave of middle school.

They made me feel I had no part

in their seemingly blissful socital pool.

Although it tore me apart,

I learned I wasn't their jewel

but I knew deep in my heart

my smart would last longer than their "cool"
