Who Is Me?

Who is me?

Me is as plain as can be

tall with dark brown hair

and the matching eyes if anyone seems to care

quiet and shy

I tend to always be asked why

gifted with a beautiful voice I sing and sing

hoping someday this queen will find her king

always wanting to leave and explore

but something is stopping me, there is more

the fear or rejection and failure slows me down

so I stay in my shelter with a large frown

but alas as graduation day nears

new thoughts emerge and what exits is my fears

for new tales will be made and adventures treasured

life is not something that can simply be measured

so as my age and maturity continues to grow

I simply remember one day I can look at those fears and just let them go.
