Who Opened that Can?

Poetry is my friend,

my air,

my bottle can opener in this

crazy world that revolves around me.

Poetry snaked through my organs

around junioir high,

staining my blood with hyperboles, smilies, and drops of alliterations.

Some people may laugh at poetry or stash it behind bars in a correctional facility,

but what they are unawar of is that poetry is a hand,

the cure to depression, anger, anxiety,

a soldier who causes a revolution in society.

Poetry is my friend.

My air.

My bottle can opener in this crazy world.
