Who is she?
What do you think when you think of me?
How do you describe me to others when they ask you, “Who is she?”
Am I known for the color of my skin, the clothes on my back, or the curvature of my nose?
Am I known for the shoes on my feet, the color of my nails, or the way I stand?
You may look at me and forget that what you see is a shell created from the same building blocks of twists and turns that created you.
But what I want is to not be seen, but to be touched.
I want you to give up 10 minutes to hold tight to my trembling faith as I venture into the unknown.
I want you to catch that foreboding fear and self-doubt as it trickles down my cheek.
I want you to embrace my appreciation for you and know I will be your support when you can’t find the strength to stand.
I want you to lead my joy as we make our way across the floor to each precious song and laughter.
I want you to hand me a goal that we can work together to accomplish – to make a difference.
I want you to pinch away the daydreams and make me realize I can turn them into reality.
But most of all, I want you to be touched by me.
Be touched by my life stories, my fears, and my dreams.
I want you to tell others that I am the girl who touched your soul.
