Who? ... an urgent question

Ecclesiastes 11:5

5 As you do not know what is the way of the wind,
Or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child,
So you do not know the works of God who makes everything.

Who?

Who controls the eyesight ... who can peek inside?

Who can interpret what is found in the heart?

Who can separate the substance and the fright?

Who now sets the time ... when we will depart?

Who writes on the slate ... called “misunderstanding”?

Who releases blindness ... if that’s what we hunger for?

Who removes our doubts ... in our ever ongoing planning?

Who instigates our desire ... when we ask for more?

Who sets the rhythm ... of our every breath?

Who fills with intelligence ... our lack of vision?

Who fills the greed  ... that so easily besets?

Who assigns that special breed ... called “politicians”?

Who is responsible ... for ongoing decay?

Who is the patient one ... who holds off the fire?

Who will sit in judgment ... who will stand and pay?

Who does understand ... listening to the choir?

Who lifts me up ... and puts me down again?

Who carries me ... all this lonely way?

Who may I trust ... in the nature of man?

Who has prepared ... the Eternal day?
