Who You Pretended To Be

To think I thought I loved you
a crazy thought indeed
because I never loved you
I loved who you pretend to be
It hurt to see you go
all though I wasn't losing much
you gave up way before the end
and I was left missing your touch
I don't think you ever loved me
but what good does that do now
can't change how you played me
can't change what I allowed
I still wish the best for you
because that's all I ever wanted
even with all the things you do
I hope you got what you wanted
and I would never take it back
even with what you did
because you made an impact
and changed my life as I know it
but this change is for the best
and I'm glad that you exposed it
even though what we had wasn't real
everything I said to you I meant sincere
even if you weren't the real deal
I'll always love who you pretended to be my dear.
