Whole
Can I be honest for a minute cause I’ve been lying to myself for too long
I’ve been acting as if everything was okay and it’s been so hard
To really see the reality that’s been set before me and see there hasn’t been a “we” in so long
And so I’ve been trying to pick apart what’s been left of me, trying to salvage the pieces I could show you to show I am whole but what I have yet to realize is the hole I’ve dug for myself these past few months
I’ve been digging trying to let loose of the serpent that had me tied, that’s told me lies about myself. How I’m ugly and hideous to your sight and that there’s no way for you to love me
And love has come crashing down from the very tree of deception
That same tree that I ate from opened my eyes to see the reflection and notice that there was not a made figure
Better yet, it was glued together in some shape and form that the arm was torn and the legs were broken and the mouth could be rearranged but it was still spoken that it could speak
It spoke of death and deception, it spoke of nothing but what that snake had fed to me earlier
See, I could not stop it from speaking because the power that laid beneath me crushed me
That linebacker was just doing his job, hitting me over and over but the problem wasn’t solved because I could not resolve the issue.
I could not move out of the way, sway which way he was going, I was going to be hit till I was broken and at the point
You came. And you came with the mission to pull me out of the way each and every time the hit was about to come
I would run and I would scamper just to notice that I was never able to miss the hit unless I allowed you to take it for me
That hit that you took on a hill called Calvary and it wasn’t just any hit, it was one that protected not just me but others
So when I felt dejected, that hit reflected all the love that you bestowed upon me.
So let me reflect to my thinking and remember the linking.
You gave yourself whole and allowed You to be broken so I would be able to use the ultimate token which is heaven
A heaven sent love. I’ve been put back together, carved in your image.
I am whole.
