Whole
Spheres are beautiful, they say;
Paragon of symmetry,
Symbol of reason,
Infinity in the palm of your hand,
Whole,
Venerated by civilization for generations without end; the shape
Of the wild world,
Of Aristotle’s crystalline heavens,
Of the Divine Mind,
Perfection.
I am the scent of a fresh sesame bagel
The fluffy doughnuts that melt on a thousand tongues
The familiar grip of humble tires
The glitter of wedding rings
The whole universe maybe
There’s a hole in me
Corrupting
Criminally mundane
Celestially unrepentant
Human:
I am Torus
I am
I delight
I celebrate
Myself
