Whole again

Today I learned what it means to be strong. How to do the hard right over the easy wrong. To hold my head high While releasing a smile to the sky. Learning to believe in myself again And pulling happiness from within. Slowly regaining control of my heart Still battling the nightmares from tearing me apart. Each day a new smile is born With old wounds healed, the scars are proudly worn. Memories of the good days Are reminders not to fall in to old ways. Finally I'm ready, ready to move on And all my pain will soon be gone.
