Whole Life

Whole Life Looking down at you As I hold you in my arms, I am amazed. Amazed by the fact, That I am embracing A little bundle That will grow up to, To be great Amazing, Remarkable, Unique. You wrap your tiny hand Around my one finger, And I imagine How one day You will grow Into a person Capable of so much Full of insight And experience. Though your eyes are squeezed shut, I picture all of the Sights Pictures And scenes that one day You will see, And take in That you will use as Inspiration To help you create. I stroke your hair And you smile up at me And I see the happiness That you have brought to the world And especially to me. That with your smile, You will add so much kindness Understanding, And hope To a society that needs it Desperately. You sigh. I sigh. And though I hope For so much Of whom you will Turn out to be. I must remember, It is YOUR choice. You will decide what To do with Your amazing qualities. And I will stand by and watch, And hope, That you are who You want to be, And whatever you choose, Ill be there to help, And will be happy with whatever Your decision turns out to be. But for now, We sit, And wait, For your life To truly begin
