For Whom the Sun Shines

As I wake up to the morning sky, I look upon the sun and ask myself why.

Why the sun rises with such fullness and brightness. Some see it as just a star, others as God's gift to the righteous.

I kept wondering and wondering why, and then I saw you as you walked by. Eyes so bright, beauty untold, a goddess on earth with a complexion of gold.

I stood in awe and stopped wondering why, for it is you for whom the sun shines.
