Why?

Why do you hate me?

What did I Do?

I remember,

"Animals to good Homes"

That's what the sign said.

So why did you get me?

What have I done to deserve this pain?

The beatings, neglect, the suffering, the tears.

I licked your palm, you called me friend,

I thought you family, 'till it happened again.

Down on the ground, not sure what I did;

Here I lie again at the foot of your mercy

And yet the pain continues on.

The vicious cycle repeats on and on

And on and on until one day

I snap!

And no matter which path I take,

It always ends the same for me,

I, never you,

I get put down.
