WHY!

Lord, why do babies die and mothers cry?

Why do people sell drugs? I thought we were suppose to love

Why do some people have no food to eat?

Clothes on their back, or shoes on their feet?

Why? Why? Why?

Sometimes Lord it makes me wanna cry

Do anybody have an answer?

Do anybody?

If so let it be told

Or will it stay this way until I'm 100 years old?

When will things change for the better? Tell me straight from the door

Poverty, sickness, pain

I'm a child and even I can't take it no more

I'm only 20 years old and my eyes have seen more than it can handle

And for my friend I light this candle

All this stuff got me going insane

And there's no one to ease his mothers pain

Violence isn't the key

Here I stand looking down on my friend when he could be looking down on me

Why? Why? Why?

Did my friend, MY FRIEND, have to be a victim of a drive by?
