Why?

The bell rings.

I find my chair

Reluctantly I pull out my notebook and begin to take your notes

But why bother?

You don't make sense.

All you want me to do is remember what you say,

Your opinion,

And my opinion is irrelevant

Finally the bell rings and I stand to leave

But wait, there is a test tomorrow?

Thanks for the short notice!

Time to cram some information into my brain

Only to be forgotten the next day

All you do is measure my ability to take your tests

Not my ability to learn

Not my ability to understand

Not my intelligence

Why do I even try?

Because colleges care what letter resides on the top of my test

But does it mean anything?

I think not.
