Why


Dark, still, warm Perfect for the dweller of this house To hide away, until the time arrived But now—the silence of a mouse Foreboding What was new Different voices, different sounds Each day another clue Bright, flash, noise, cold A thief had found my dwelling place But, no, so much more My heart began to race Terror, sharp, pain, tear I watched my fears unfold Apprehension, as of a time since past Dark, still, cold
